Andrew Baird, BS ATP EMT-P
Critical Care Program Director
View profile
Andrew Baird (ATP EMT-P) serves as the Critical Care Program Director and Founder of Access Care + CareJet Specialty Care Transport Services. A native of North Carolina, Andrew attended the School of Management at NC State. During that time, he also obtained his commercial pilot’s license and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate, which allowed him to work his way through school as an “eye in the sky” traffic reporting pilot and eventually, a Wake County EMS System Paramedic.
Encouraged by his advisors and professors at NC State, and fueled by his passion for medicine and aviation, Andrew launched his first business focused on CPR & Emergency Response Training. As the company evolved and was eventually sold, Mr. Baird decided to merge his passions into one entity and developed Vector Aeromedical Services in 2014—a medical flight organization with special focus on critical access and care.
Since founding Vector Aeromedical and its subsequent branches AccessCare (ground ambulance), CareJet (air ambulance), and EventCare (special event medical support), Mr. Baird’s organizations have transported critically ill and injured patients over 3 million miles—including repatriating sick North Carolina citizens from foreign countries, organ transplant recipients and organs, and has donated many flights-particularly to North Carolina children. His medical company is currently headquartered in Smithfield, North Carolina with a global reach through its multiple partner aircraft, seven ambulances and 22 employees.
Andrew currently proudly serves as the North Carolina House Congressional appointee to the North Carolina Emergency Medical Services oversight board, where he chairs the trauma designation sub committee. He represents his company as its representative on the North Carolina Air Medical Association board. He remains the treasurer and board member for Bahamas Habitat and is the Vice Chairperson for the Cary Area EMS alongside assistant Vice Chancellor (NCSU DASA) Justine Hollingshead. Mr. Baird also recently established an educational endowment for advanced medical studies open to female paramedics in honor of Robyn Brown, one of his flight team members who lost her life in 2020.
